rs: These Should Be the Good Times and The Ministry of Archers

The Spambots are a trans-continental pop trio duo. The main vocalist and lyricist is Hector Chavez, aka Spambot, from Pomona, California. The main music writer and synth-program is William Simkin, aka Nikmis, from Calgary, Alberta. We both do a bit of everything though. We write songs about addiction, god, and the fact that nikmis was brianpeppers from the joy electric message board. We one day hope to be 1/3rd as awesome as Joy Electric. That is our goal.

"I hate most electronic music, in its many forms. It is very rare to come across a musician like Ronnie Martin who writes such beautiful songs, and knows how to use a synthesizer. Ronnie makes synthesizers sound good, not the other way around. The only reason I got into making music at all was becuase his music compelled me to do so." - Nikmis

"Besides 80's music and new wave stuff, Joy Electric was my first real exposure to electronic music.  Prior to Joy Electric, I thought that electronic music was only for raves and clubs.  The first song that I heard from JE was Monosynth.  It wasn't the greatest song, but it was much different that anything that I had ever heard.  I picked up a copy of The Tick Tock Treasury, and I fell in love." - Spambot

"I chose to cover TSBTGTimes because it is one of the greatest songs of all time, that I have heard, in my limited experience. It is a beautifully written, sad and sentimental song, with a touch of hopefullness. I am not sure I did it justice. I also wanted to do this one of all Joy Electric songs because it is only on the album 'Unelectric', so there was no awesome synthesizer work to live up to." - Nikmis

"The Ministry of Archers is also one of my favorite Joy Electric songs.  I also think that it is one of Joy Electric's best albums.  I wanted to do this song, because I feel that the album didn't get as much attention as it should have.  The album is really great."
