"Dave, the lead synth player/songwriter for the punk trio Radio Way, has had a long history of creating electronic music through his side project, Rover Random. I've listened to his music for a long time, and if there's one word that could always describe it whether he was doing a fast, angry piece to a poignant, contemplative ballad, it's "passion". You can always hear he means exactly what he says and says exactly what he means. The brutal honesty of his lyrics shimmer when infused with a jolt of his synth wizardry, always perfectly accenting the vocal line to really hammer home the meaning of his songs. Each and every one hits you -and I mean really hits you- in a unique and special way. As his technique improved over the years, he attracted the attention not only of our community of independent electronic artists, but also of a few much higher up in the business -he and Colby were the front band for none other than Joy Electric, something most of us could only ever dream of. In a fateful turn he joined forces with the lead vocalist Colby and long-time friend Phil to create a classic punk-synth trio now known as Radio Way. Phil's expert guitar playing and Colby's sugar-high lyrics give brings their collective efforts to a whole new level of brilliance, pounding out dance-able growling punk ballads in the same league as any you might hear playing on the major labels. When you hear the sheer energy these three talented artists exhibit when playing you know they're surely going somewhere; perhaps in this way they're name is kind of prophetic. That is certainly the journey they're taking." review by Doctor Madrigal
"Ronnie was the first musician that I really liked. He continues to be my biggest inspiration in music and a person that I respect on many levels. I have been listening to his work for 11 years of my life, which is more than half. From his music to the person he is, he has affected my life." - Dave
"The quality and quantity of his music inspires me to write music in hopes of becoming as accomplished of a musician as he is." - Phill "Ronnie is a really great guy, a guy I'd like to have dinner with." - Colby "Why we chose this song? It has the punk rock style that we try to emulate in our music, we actually started working on a cover of it a few days before the challenge. Oh and it was easy and already tabbed out for." |
